How can I get a Rail Book For Italy?

Dexter Dicostanzo: Euro trains are a great way to travel but you always have to be aware that at time while they have passengers they sometimes stop working far from where you want to go. Why? Because the employees go out on what's called a "wildcat strike".Italy does this more often then other countries. I know because it happened to me 2 different times.1st time was the worst because it was July and very hot and we had to wait for over 6 hrs before their stupid strike was over. But I still like taking trains even in Italy.Your aunt may have meant that you buy a Euro-Rail Pass you can check them out on line. But maybe not?...Show more

Leora Klingelhoets: I'm going on a trip to Italy for 2 weeks this June and need Rail Times etc.

Johnny Sirko: What sort of "Rail Book" - timetable, travel guide, history? Why did your aunt tell you that you needed one?Right!Your best bet will be to visit the home page of the Ferrovia Dello Stato - the Italian State Railways at ww! w.fsitaliane.it/homepage_en.htm. This will provide you with train times, fares, etc. However, I would point out that it may be too early to plan your trip, as most European railways introduce their Summer timetables around Easter-time, and they are probably still in the final planning stages right now.Have a good trip - I've been to Italy a couple of times, and their train services seem to be very good (and a lot cheaper than the UK!)...Show more
