Question about my philosophy essay?

Zora Mazzie: Philosophjy is 'critical thought'!Religion is 'beliefs'!

Ellis Cellar: Mention what you have learned with regards to the main branches of philosophy. Then mention where you stand on the question or issues concerned with those branches to include which philosophers you agree with and why.Metaphysics - what is the nature of reality? what can be considered real?Ontology - what is the nature of being? what type of things can said to be or have being?Epistemology - what is knowledge? how can we know things? what is the difference between knowing and believing?Ethics - what is the right way to live? what must we do to live a good life? how are required to behave?Aesthetics - what is the nature of beauty/art? how do we relate to beauty/art?...Show more

Chet Nozick: Perhaps you could start by saying which particular philosophies corresponded most to your own beliefs.

Rose Krouse: You should mention what you have learned in philosophy in summary form,! then you should stop writing the opening and write the body, where you develop that.As an educator, the most important philosophical question is: "Do you love wisdom?" If you do not then you cannot call yourself a student or philosophy. So I suggest you establish and quantify that claim first and foremost.Peace.=D...Show more

Terresa Tsasie: essays must be about only one selected topic. if more than one overall topic exists they would each comprise a chapter in a book. so no mater how many things you have learned, make sure that you make it clear in your essay that they all fall under the one topic that is what you learned in your course of study. state this topic in your intro. in phil essays, you should also state your conclusion about the topic, in your intro. so whatever main things you have learned, you should clarify in your intro, insofar as what you have learned is the conclusion you have arrived at with respect to the topic. I mean just name each main! thing you have learned. when i say main thing, i mean that y! ou can group some things you have learned into a category and give it a name, and other things into another category and give it a name. to be more clear over this, consider that some things you have learned all can fall under a heading, with the heading being the central thing learned, such that the things under that heading are secondary to it. for example, if I learned how to pedal a bicycle, steer a bicycle, how to ride safely on a bicycle, and how to stop a bicycle, i can in my intro just say i learned how to ride a bicycle. this strategy allows you break it down into its smaller parts in the body of your essay. the body of your essay is for supporting your conclusion. in this case, that means describing the things you named in your intro, and proving that you in fact learned those named things. this is also where you would use the smaller parts under each heading (as i laid out this concept of heading and smaller parts in my preceding paragraph here) as support! for the things you stated in your intro.your concluding section of the essay should summarize what you laid out in the body. this means nearly repeating the intro. plus, discuss things that you would like to have learned, or that you are still foggy over. also involve your overall impression of the course. that will give the essay a little something extra at the end, but that being a something that you do not have to fully support....Show more

August Hubbard: I would suggest that you outline the complete text of your essay, write the central portion of the essay. Then write the intro paragraph and summary paragraph last. The intro paragraph is just a very compact "overview" of the main body of your essay.---------....Show more
